Vladimir Chipashvili was born on September 29, 1964.
Graduated from Dept of General Medicine at Tbilisi State Medical Institute in 1987 (with honors). During 1987-91 worked in Kharagauli and Khashuri district Hospitals as a surgeon.
1991-92 – has passed postgraduate training at the Scientific Center of Surgery in Moscow. In 1992 – defended the PhD thesis on Liver Transplantation.
Since 1993 - worked at Tbilisi State Medical Academy of Postgraduate Medical Training as a Senior Research Officer, then – as senior lecturer (docent).
In 1998 – Dr. Chipashvili was elected as the Director of Thoracoabdominal Clinica at the Tbilisi City Hospital №1.
Dr. Chipashvili was elected as a Member of the Parliament in 1999 and again - in 2004. He has worked as a head of Parliamentary Comission on health and social issues.
Appointed as Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia by Presidential decree in May 2004.
Mr. Chipashvili is one of the founders and active member of the United National Movement of Georgia.
